So I put my palm under it when it auto fires and it smells the same as when I come back when my ozone machine is done, fresh. We now have 3 cats so we have 5 litters as recommended. I was certain that this unit would not be able to handle all 5 trays so I isolated one of the open trays to see how it would handle. It really helps, unless it's a nasty bomb, in which case I don't think anything else will help remove it. Then I tried it in a closed box, now the smell has improved a lot. I will definitely need one in each box to see if the bad smell can be improved or removed. It is silent operation and the motion sensor activates it for 30 seconds and turns it off automatically when there is no more motion. The light on it tells you what it's doing, active, needs charging, fully charged. It's rechargeable and the battery life is 7 days, although I get about 5 days with three cats. It's a little bigger than those old plastic sticks. It comes with a USB cable and 2 mounting plates. So far so good, I can definitely say it helps. Hope that was helpful, thanks!
