Because all walls are not created equal. Measuring, aligning and fastening this set of shelves between 2 walls and at the optimum vertical distance between the shelves was a challenge. The templates came in handy, but in a few places I had to substitute other fasteners due to studs or unknown obstructions behind the drywall. Four shelves, each with 8 fasteners. Each shelf consists of five retractable tubes. It wasn't easy installing such a pliable shelf, incrementally lengthening each tube to bridge the gap between the support walls, and then incrementally tightening the fasteners back-to-front and side-to-side for stable and secure tension wasn't easy! Had to use a ratchet screwdriver; The space was too limited for my training. This shelf allows you to optimally adjust the space.
