I've had these Cloud Alpha headsets for about 3 weeks now and I have nothing but good things to say. Well, maybe a little remark; auricles. However, a quick switch to Brainwavz earpads (red velor) changed the comfort by 200%! You hardly feel the headset and it's still snug enough to fit snugly against your head. I've been using the Astro A40 since 2013 and often use some of my audiophile headphones when I don't want to use the mic. So I was never really satisfied with the sound of the A40. They are muted, lacking in precision and presence. I tried this new Cloud Alpha and wow. Immediately impressed with them all around. Great workmanship, feel and sound. The microphone sounds fantastic. they completely kill the A40 mic; makes them sound like cheap $3 mics. The A40's sound is anemic compared to these headphones. I will never go back to Astro, take them TR Mix Amp Pro; which I think paired with these headphones is the perfect combination for a mid-range sub-$250 headset. I have recording experience so my ears sound good now. Get these headphones; You will not be disappointed. Spend an extra $20 and upgrade your headphones and the sound will hook you.
