I have had 3 men's Cascadia shoes and am very happy with them, I wear them all day to work, errands and travelling. I was disappointed after wearing my first pair of socks after 9 months. When I received my last pair (pictured in black and orange) I knew they would last longer because of the protective coating on the fingers. In fact, they lasted about 14 months. I guess I didn't pay attention to anything other than the price, when I got this last pair they fit small/pinch my right big toe and they have NO front toe protection, it's just mesh. I don't put my shoes on too often, but as a vet I see animals stepping on my feet, domestic pigs nibbling/digging on them and pup litters attacking them all day long. But what matters is that the forefoot tissue wears out long before the shoe ages or the tread wears heavily. I sealed the top of the black and orange trainers with electrical insulation and wore them for another year, but I definitely feel like I lost my class in these Cascadia 14s. Also, I'm a 6 inch female who wears a women's size 7.5 and has worn men's or men's 6.5-7 at Brooks for over 10 years and this is the first size 7 that doesn't fit in the sock. I have narrow feet, a high arch, my second toe is slightly longer than my big toe, and the support in these shoes is great, but the fit and composition aren't exactly what I would call durable for running or life .
