I bought this instrument after my daughter bought a 2001 Jetta. The car arrived and was in need of service which required replacing spark plugs and wires. After researching locally for a similar tool and being told I would need to speak to a local wheeled tool box dealer, we bought this tool and saved a lot of money. I have almost all the tools needed to fix a car engine, one more tool doesn't matter. The only complaint about this tool is that it's dead straight. The tool needs a slight bend. It works well in a couple of cylinders, but the other two require a slight bend to make the job easier. With a slight bend, it doesn't cause any problems for the other two cylinders. If you have a flashlight or a good hair dryer, heat the tool (not necessarily red hot), insert the tool into the narrowest cylinder and slowly bend. It will take a few tries, be careful not to melt or burn anything. Once the tool is hot you can also use a face mallet and a block of wood to shape the tool. Whatever works for you, or leave it as is. I would have given 4 stars if I hadn't had any issues with the straight tool. You really need this type of tool to remove connector wires without damaging VW/Audi powered vehicles. The tool also helps install the wires.
