Review on Suunto Spartan Sport Wrist HR Tracker by Adolfo Goins

Unreliable GPS tracking and Strava connectivity are buggy at best.

Avoid this watch. Nothing but problems straight out of the box. During the initial setup, it was never able to get a GPS signal. I bought this watch specifically because it's supposed to work with Strava and track my runs: mileage, distance, and time. It does a lot more, which I consider a nice bonus. Navigation stopped on first launch. I looked in a mile and he said he couldn't find a signal. I had to go into the settings and specifically turn on GLONASS to even get a navigation signal. The second time I started with 39% battery. After less than three minutes of running, I look down and see the watch is locked and the charger connection icon is on the screen. I've read that when the watch drops to 20% or below it goes into that "mode" to charge itself. I expect the battery to have dropped by at least 19% within three minutes of starting mileage tracking. In addition, in this mode they also stop tracking your exercises because I plugged them in when I got home and there was no data other than about the first minute of that run. The other reason I chose this watch was that it offered connectivity. to the Strava app. I ran with this watch about 4 times before returning it and only 2 of my runs were ever connected to Strava. They just seem to choose when to share at random. I went through all the troubleshooting steps including disconnecting, logging out and back in and reconnecting - none of that worked. I should also note that all apps, my phone and watch were using the latest software updates. On my last run with this watch it again failed to connect to the GPS and I looked in a mile to find out that it had stopped and was still trying to find a GPS signal. When I finished my run, was it 6 miles? 7? Who knows!? – The route started about 200 meters from my house, down a hill on the other side of the dense forest and the gorge. It showed me running in circles there and then suddenly moving in a perfectly straight line as the crow flies through the forest, over the ravine and back to my original route. I think this watch is good when you're trying to dodge the authorities or go offline because it doesn't know where you are! Bottom line, just save your money and get an Apple Watch or Garmin watch for a comparable price.
