This product is sticky aluminum. This is not a sound deadening benefit. Used to cover the exposed sharp edges of the dynamat's sound absorbing material or to cover the seams of 2 dynamat arcs. I ordered this as part of a kit and didn't use it when I installed the Dynamat Extreme in my car. Everything I put in my trunk was carpeted. In my opinion it is not necessary.
