I was pleased with these pants when I took them out of the bag and more pleased when I tried them on. They're extremely soft and comfortable. I got them to wear when I'm working around the house, so I don't care if they lose color or pill (too much), as inexpensive pants seem to do. They may be a little heavy for summer wear if you plan to wear them outside, but in air conditioning, I don't think it will be a problem. The pockets are a real plus. One curious thing about them is the waistband. It's very heavy and thick and it took forever to machine-dry. The directions specify low dryer heat, but after setting the machine on two different low settings and still finding a lot of dampness, I resorted to a 20-minute medium-low cycle, followed by yet another one! I'll probably hang them to dry after one medium-low drying session after this, but I was in a hurry to see how much they shrank so I could hem them if needed; my old house pants are literally threadbare.I also discovered just today that the pants are bulky enough that they may make your tops fit on the skimpy side if you don't tuck them in, and how many of us plus sizes do that. I planned to do some cleaning today but wanted to run to the Dairy Queen first so put on a decent but long top over the pants. The top was snug! I was nearly in a panic and assumed I'd gained weight. Then I thought maybe the thick waistband and fabric were causing the problem. Sure enough, once I changed pants, all was well with my world, but it may be something to consider if you plan to wear them when going out.I wear 14 Women's Petite pants from Talbot's, but the Woman Within size chart gave the waist measurement for a 14 Women's Petite as 32"-33.5" and the hips as 40.5"-42." My waist measures 40" and hips are 42" inches (yes, I'm a block). Going by the WW chart, I'd have needed a Large, but after reading other reviewers' comments about overly large legs, "clown pants," etc., I took a chance on the waist discrepancy and ordered a Medium. After I held them up to look at them, I expected that I really would have a problem with the waist and have to send them back, but it was very comfortable and the legs were just right. As the day went on, I half-expected to see deep red marks around my waist when I took the pants off, even though I was never aware of any tightness (with a bad back as the test), but the skin color was no different than the rest of me. Best of all is that the crotch is a true Petite, hits just right. I did need to shorten the pants a little, even after washing and machine-drying. I'm about 5'1".Overall, except for the very thick waistband, I'm very happy with the pants.
