2019 Base XLT Explorer - Installing

For those who are installing this instead of the default mirror and have the 2019 Base XLT Explorer, read on. First of all the mirror looks good and I doubt most will be able to tell that it is out of stock. Second, installation is easy once you know the color codes on your light card cables. Not me. Oo, I finally got it, but let's just say just because green is on a wire doesn't necessarily make it a reason. And finally, instructions. 1) Use a flathead screwdriver and insert it into the base of the old mirror where it connects to the window. raise the mirror If in doubt, google it. There are many videos showing how to do this. 2) Gently pull down the sunglasses/map light box. He will unplug and disconnect the wire from the lights. Set the assembly aside. 3) Get a machine screw with a head big enough so it doesn't go through the ground wire loop on the new mirror's wiring harness. This will be your country. 4) Take a drill and drill to make a hole for the ground screw. Use a smaller diameter drill bit for the size of the screw being used. 5) Drill the metal plate attached to the roof into the sunglass/torch cavity. Make sure it is NOT the roof of a car. Check the gap between the panel and the roof. I had about two inches. Make sure your ground screw isn't too long so you don't accidentally pierce the roof. That would be bad. 6) Install the ground screw and wire. 7) Attach the red IDC clip to the yellow and green wires. 8) Insert another mirror wire clip into the back of the IDC clip. 9) Feed the wire through the hole in the cavity against the windshield 10) Carefully secure the excess with a zip tie. Or cut and connect. 11) Connect the wires to the back of the mirror. 12) Position the mirror on the windshield and tighten the torx set screw. 13) Start the car. There should be a green light in front of the mirror. 14) Check by covering the sensor on the back of the mirror. It should be dark. 15) Reinstall the sunglass/map light assembly. Make sure you have the light plugged in. you have to do
