I bought my first pair of J2 headphones about 2 years ago when I was looking for an upgrade from the standard iPod headphones. I have been very pleased with the sound quality and comfort of the J2 - so much so that I have purchased 2-3 additional pairs as gifts for friends and family and have recommended them regularly on both internet forums and "real life" file sharing sites. My first pair lasted several months until a newly acquired puppy chewed on the string. Needing replacement headphones, I had no hesitation in buying more J2s (which thankfully have come down in price since my original purchase). ). I ordered two pairs - one for home/laptop and one for gym/iPod. Over the course of a few weeks I noticed that my sports headphones seemed to have some sort of short/connection issue in the jack as I was getting sound from one ear. At home I hooked up a couple of cheap Sonys to my iPod and they didn't have this problem. Although I was frustrated by the breakdown in my workouts and the fact that I didn't have a pair of headphones I recently bought, I blamed it on bad luck and didn't think about it anymore. went to bed to watch Netflix before falling asleep and noticed another pair of J2s had the exact same issue. To say I was upset would be a gross understatement. Two almost new headphones no longer work and there is no way to watch the end of my movie when my wife is sleeping next to me. What good is a product if it's completely unreliable? I'm not sure if my experience was due to a manufacturing defect or just poor quality control, but there is no doubt that something is wrong with JLabs. I was once a regular customer and a staunch supporter of JLabs products, but I can't in good conscience continue to buy their products, let alone recommend them.
