This pump fits my 2001 VW GTI (Golf) perfectly. The washer fluid reservoir was full when I started the change and it was flushing out the bushing after removing the old pump. My car must have eaten the old bushing because nobody else saw it. When replacing a pump, do the following whenever possible: 1) Start with an empty tank or prepare a good plug. 2) Take the sleeve immediately after removing the old pump. 3) Get a new bushing. This saves you if the original is lost or damaged. Fresh tires never hurt.
