My son has been in law enforcement for 23 years so he is very concerned about safety. He lives with me to take care of me as I have cancer and when he saw these fire blankets he thought we should buy them. I agreed as we have a wood stove in the large room. We keep fires burning most of the winter. Although we have fire extinguishers, this blanket is definitely an essential part of any home's fire safety. A fire blanket is a great way to put out everyday fires in your home. A fat fire in the kitchen, a bonfire on the porch or patio, or any other unexpected fire can be covered with this 100 x 100 cm blanket. If you put a blanket on a fire, it will go out immediately. It is made entirely of fiberglass, so gloves are recommended when handling. Since you rarely have time to hunt for gloves, there are two straps attached to the blankets to hold them in place when you take them out and put them on the fire. Luckily we haven't had to use any of the five yet, and I hope we never have to. However, it is better to have them and never use them than NOT to have them and need them. Since every home needs these fire blankets, I highly recommend them.
