Starry night without camping

A little story about WHY I bought this item... About 20 years ago my mother and I had to spend several months in someone's house and in a room, in which I found "shining" stars on the roof next to a ceiling fan. At night, with the windows open and the fan on, falling asleep was a surreal and peaceful experience. To be honest I slept pretty well even though it was a 'temporary' bed and not even mine. Six weeks later we moved to another apartment (apartment) and although I still slept great, I missed that atmosphere. However, I couldn't reach the ceiling to light up the glowing stars, and some management companies don't like tenants "remodeling" the space (they can hardly tolerate "hanging items" like paintings). And since then I've moved a few more times and spent time in different apartments (and even rented a house). I haven't moved in 11 years so my track record is better. So I'd have to put stars everywhere I've lived for the last 20 years. Definitely impractical. Okay, let's move on... I saw these "projectors" at Revain and elsewhere and finally decided to get one. As I said, I missed the "atmosphere" created by the stars. At first I was worried about the sound - will I be able to sleep? Will it be too bright? WHERE WOULD I PUT IT? All of these questions were asked when I received it. So the first problem is that it requires four (4) AAA batteries. I didn't have them. And I couldn't put my laptop by the bed to connect the globe. I found an old 5v phone adapter to work with. And yes, it worked. I've left it on for about six (6) hours and no problems with it. I would prefer a compatible adapter but I can work with that. Of course I have to wait until the end of the month to get the batteries (payday). Then I'll update my review (or comment) on how it works with batteries. The second problem, but not for me - yes, if you want to have PROJECTION (stars, lights) on the wall/ceiling - you have to remove the transparent plastic sphere. This is stated in the little guide that accompanies the kit. I didn't use it as an ordinary night light with a "ball". "C" key turns on the rotation. The "A" key is a little tricky. This adds more clear light to the stars. B has Solids, Combos... You can look at the pics to see how it works. The third problem is the switch. He doesn't have one like that. But after turning off the rotation and pressing the "A" button (solid) and pressing the "B" button, the device turned off. I've done this three nights in a row with no problems. I was able to fall asleep because of the noise, fell asleep immediately. The light (until I looked at the device) was easy to use. Where did I put it? On the bedside table. The cord was long enough to get a little tangled when plugged into an outlet. This gave me plenty of "length" and didn't have to worry about the plug falling out or being pulled out. USB power delivery comes in handy, especially if you decide to take it with you on a trip. Most hotels I've stayed in have bedside USB chargers. And it would be great to bring kids or anyone who wants to experience it. Cheap "adapters" are available here at Revain or other retailers. The only thing that would be perfect would be a timer. I'm sure more expensive models have them too. Overall it looks pretty decent for the price and what it is. I would recommend this place for kids, teenagers and even adults who want a starry night without camping.
