We bought this for $70 shipping no tax. We started taking our son at 18 months and he just kept going. Now he's just over two years old and looks like Fred Flintstone very quickly. Down the slope with raised legs, exit the "SUV". He loves to. It is well made with real bike construction. The tires are good quality inflatable tires that offer a smoother ride than rigid non-pneumatic tires. The only downside I can think of is that the seat doesn't drop as low as some wheels, so I hacked an inch off the seatpost with a hacksaw. By three he's on the bike at this speed and the next kid takes over, so I don't have a problem with that. If you value quality construction and want something durable, this is a great bike. There are many wheels with junk construction and handling. This is a good, durable bike that looks more like a 'bike' than a toy. Assembly is easy with the tools provided. Lasts 5 minutes. I had a hard time removing the valve stem caps (as did another reader), but I just took some wire cutters and cut off the protective piece. Not sure why they use caps that are so difficult to remove (probably to keep kids from blowing out tires, but I've had a lot of bikes and never seen them like this). It doesn't matter, considering the merits of this thing. PLEASE purchase a helmet for your child when purchasing. $40 is a lot cheaper than a trip to the ER or a head injury. An indispensable piece of equipment. We've already saved ourselves from some pretty solid headbones.
