I tested it with two different radios, Baofeng F8HP and Olywiz. Both worked perfectly. I was able to ping my local relays with no problem. Transmission has been reported to be as clear, if not clearer, than a standard rubber stud antenna. So from a functional point of view this is a good antenna. What attracted me was the ability to fold it up and put it away. Carrying a radio with an 18 inch antenna is a problem on the bottom. However, if you can easily and safely fold this antenna, it becomes much more attractive. Well that adds up. It even comes with a little Velcro to help you with this problem. Not sure why it has a foldable mount, but you can attach the antenna directly to the mount. This shortens it but doesn't seem to decrease transmission at all. Very versatile and reliable antenna. I recommend. But tactically? I'm not sure what the heck that means in this case. Foldable, packable, working antenna? Of course. Tactical?
