Problems with external monitor

What I liked: - small, portable - looks well made (aluminum body) - power through (the only reason to buy) What I didn't like: - had problems right away That's how I got my laptop -Screen (Dell XPS 13) extended to an external monitor - Connected quickly but the screen has broken horizontal lines and green dots scattered all over the screen.
