*Edit. So I decided to leave everything as is and I really liked it. It's the best you can expect for the price and it got the job done. But now one corner has broken off in a very scratch prone spot so I'll buy another one. It lasted a year, is lightweight, easy to put on and take off, and actually very pretty. I just hope the next one comes in good condition. I added a new photo of the broken corner. I'm changing my rating to 4 stars because this is a great case for the price! It was wrapped in thin plastic. It was as beautiful as the picture but seemed really dull and dirty. I immediately noticed a half inch scratch in one corner which I included in the picture above. I wasn't happy with the scratch and wanted to return it but figured it wasn't a very expensive case and it would probably be more of a hassle to return it and then wait for a replacement than the scratch itself. Needed a good cleaning. There were stains and residue everywhere which surprised me as it was supposed to be a brand new product. I don't know if it was a return and that would explain the stains and scratches or if it was just not cleaned after manufacture. I definitely recommend cleaning it well before attaching it. I recommend using disinfectant or electronic wipes that won't damage your Mac. After I cleaned the case it looked much better except for a scratch. It snapped into place fairly easily and seemed to fit well. I love the bottom and that it has pads to prevent slipping and add extra protection. Given the amount of money I spent on it, I take great care of my MacBook, so I bought a case first. What worries me is that the loops seem to get more stressed when opening the MB. It seems to require more force to open the lid and I'm afraid that might damage the hinges and they might loosen or damage over time. Keep in mind that this is just my opinion and I have no proof of this, so take it for granted. Overall I think this is a good case for the money. I am deducting 1 star for the scratched and dirty condition it was delivered in. I don't plan on leaving it on for long due to my concerns about the hinges. I plan to spend the extra money and buy a nice soft bag. But overall if it were in better condition I would rate it a solid 4 star product for the price. It is very aesthetic and protects the lid of your MacBook from scratches, dents and dust. I just hope I can remove it without scratching it.
