. Relatively new to NATO watch straps and have heard good things about Barton

I'm relatively new to NATO watch straps and have heard good things about Barton but if I knew what I know now I wouldn't buy this one Belt. The first thing that struck me when I received it was the lack of stitching. The item description says they use an "ultrasonic" connection or something, but I'm not sure how much I believe that. There are other brands that sell these straps and the photos look pretty much the same, so I wouldn't be surprised if it was just their rebranded versions and the "ultrasonic" part was just a marketing gimmick. Being too curious, I tried tugging at one of the seams and it started to unravel a bit. It didn't improve my confidence much. I'll add the stitching myself so no big deal but Revain has a lot of great inexpensive straps that are already stitched. Second, I thought the idea of a nylon attachment loop would be an interesting alternative to the typical metal attachments found on most belts, but in practice I didn't care. Threading the excess back through the loop is no more convenient than folding it back through the metal latch, and it seems to put unnecessary strain on the loop, which I know isn't sewn in. I'm afraid it will stretch. crumbles and loses its shape over time. Maybe I'm being too paranoid about the stitching and as far as I know this thing can last for years but compared to some of the other types I've used I feel that way. On a positive note the gray is exactly what is shown in the picture, the metal parts appear to be of good quality and the holes appear to have been heat treated to prevent wear.
