Review on Canon EOS 60D: 18MP CMOS Digital SLR Camera Body - Your Next Photography Companion by Agung ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I'm impressed! Exactly the product deserves your attention.

Switched to 60D from 400D. I switched because of the presence of the video function, better ergonomics and new features that the 400D simply does not have (such as an electronic level, etc.). For the price, it's an excellent choice for image quality, workmanship, ergonomics, and feature set. For those who need high burst speed and other professional bells and whistles, choose the 7D.

Pros
  • 1. Good workmanship (with minor exceptions). 2. Good grip, grippy materials where the hand touches. 3. Gorgeous LCD screen. 4. Rotary screen. Relevant for video and when shooting photos from uncomfortable positions. 4. Good picture quality in general, as well as at high ISO. 5. Availability of Full HD video. 6. Electronic level (especially in viewfinder mode - very convenient). 7. Card formats - SDHC and SDHX. SDHX is now gaining momentum and is no worse than CF in terms of speed, but the prevalence of the SD format is much wider. You can plug it into the same laptop without any problems. 8. Blocker on the disc with modes. On the old camera, the mode regularly changed spontaneously (from Av to M), especially when you quickly take it out of the bag. Several times were missed good shots. 9. You can create your own menu with the most frequently used functions. 10. Detailed information about the state of the battery (including at the time of charging).
Cons
  • 1. Slow AF speed in movie mode. 2. There is no tracking autofocus in video shooting mode. 3. I don’t really like how the buttons on the joystick are pressed, somehow it’s not clear and not informative. 3. There is a slight play in the cover for the SD card - unexpectedly against the backdrop of the high quality of the device as a whole. 4. Spots from the LCD screen are poorly rubbed off. You can't just breathe on it and wipe it off with your sleeve. 5. The button for deleting pictures is inconveniently located. You have to use your other hand. 6. Unnecessary modes on the disk - "Portrait", "Landscape", etc. 60D owners are unlikely to use them, and spinning the wheel from Av to the "Video" mode is a long time. 7. There is no possibility to view pictures with magnification immediately after shooting - for some reason it is necessary to enter the view mode.
