Water “Resistant” best in my review
I wouldn't trust a $5 case to be waterproof for any real length of time, especially with a $800 phone inside. The top does not have a waterproof seal. The case is closed by clamping two plastic pieces together with two plastic clamps. That said, these are definitely water resistant and accidentally splashing or dropping the case in water briefly would protect the phone. The lanyard allowed me to hold the phone over the side of a cruise ship without fear of getting the phone wet or dropping it into the ocean.
