I purchased this jug in January 2016. I use it to make iced tea from high quality loose tea. I really like how this pitcher works. This made it much easier to make iced tea. I used a different jar that took up too much space in the fridge. This slim pitcher fits perfectly on the top shelf, with plenty of room next to it for other items. In fact, I love this jar so much that six months later, in June 2016, I bought a second jar with a different colored lid. I like to drink green iced tea while my boyfriend only likes black iced tea. Although I will be drinking both, I was at my green tea peak and wanted to keep a pot of green tea in the fridge. The top shelf fits two jugs and its slim profile means there's plenty of room for sharing. The amount of tea that fits in here is just right for one or two people. I find that iced tea should be consumed quickly after making it, so I don't mind having to brew the tea after a day or so. If you have a lot of people drinking from this pitcher, you might want to consider buying more than one. Adding different herbal teas to your regular tea for a flavored iced tea is easy and fun, and because the pitchers are so thin, they don't take up too much space. No problem last year. I was initially a bit concerned that the glass seemed flimsy at first, but there were no issues with durability. The rubber base protects the jug from accidental impact during use. My friend is by no means soft on this item and has been fine for a year now. I plan to buy several of these glasses as gifts for friends and family in the future.
