I tested this stand on various laptops I have at home and no matter which laptop we used, this stand was able to hold any of them. To check the weight of this stand, I put the monitor on it. I had to flip the stand because the two mounts for our laptops got in the way. However, it was even able to hold the monitor. When it first arrived I noticed that the stand mounts were wrapped in foam and looking at other reviews on purchasing the biggest complaint I saw was that it arrived with scratches so I figured it was one great way to protect it in transit. The stand itself can be moved to be more agronomic for you to view and position at eye level. Once you set it the way you want it, the stand stays in that position and doesn't move. Even if you close and leave the laptop, it still stays in that position. Really durable and allows you to have more space when you need it. In addition, it is easy to wipe off if necessary. What I really like about it is that the hole is more than big enough to let all the air through so your laptop doesn't overheat.
