I've had a pair of these for about a year with no problems, just bought a second set for another car. I used them mostly after workouts/sports and occasionally at the beach or on the boat. The seat stayed dry through all of these activities, although I never used it fully soaked to test waterproofing. I can tell you that summertime outdoor sports in Florida make you feel like you're in the water. Neoprene is durable. This was a priority for me so I never tried the other plastic lined types to compare but I am very happy with this purchase. The neoprene wraps well around the seat and doesn't move much. I just put the cover on the headrest and don't even bother with the straps (quick to put on and take off). It's wide enough with good coverage, although I've seen someone very tall might struggle. They were mainly used in a black leather car so I can't say many stains. Used once in my wife's car with brown leather and no problems (only about 15 minutes). By the way, I've already received a reminder from the company that I can't leave covers, even though I behaved smartly. I left the upholstery on the seats in black leather and anthracite fabric and after a few days no stains were noticed. There was a chemical smell at first, but that went away after about 48 hours. If you are sensitive, just air them 2 days before use. A seat belt protector is also a plus. In fact, I'd like a second one to cover the waist and shoulder parts of the belt.
