Very satisfied with the camera. It takes excellent, well-exposed, razor-sharp images and is very compact. It's about the size of a 7/8 inch thick credit card and feels nice like a solid metal case. I use it as a secondary camera when I don't want to lug around my bulkier DSLR. The optical viewfinder is a nice feature. Canon seems to be one of the few brands still making sub-compact/compact cameras with an optical viewfinder. Function is disabled. The bundled Canon package gives you only basic photo editing features, and Canon Movie Maker is almost identical to Movie Maker 2 XP. The same applies to movie files. The "Video" function is very convenient and allows you to take beautiful pictures. With the best quality (640x380) and 30 frames per second, up to 32 minutes are possible on a 4 GB card. Only digital zoom works in movie mode, not optical, so whatever focal length you start with is pretty much set. With digital zoom, the image is simply digitally enlarged, so the quality of the zoom degrades. Not bad considering the camera's small size and convenience. With the included RCA cable, you can connect the camera to a TV and view photos or movies. If you have a DVD burner, you can burn your movies directly to DVD. Remember to click the Show button to turn off the overlay time information on your camera, otherwise it will also be recorded! One more note: I had trouble turning off the AF assist light. I wanted the little focus light to stay off at all times. I disabled this feature in the menu but it still worked. I found that you also need to turn off the Red Eye option in the Flash menu. This keeps the light off forever.
