I made a 2.5 inch version myself a few years ago and it was almost worn out. Thats much better. Soft bristles are very suitable for carpets. I bought a small 1 liter blower with pump to get the cleaning solution onto carpet stains and it works like a charm. The foam does not soak into the upholstery and breaks through the pile with a drill in a few seconds. I leave it on for a few minutes and vacuum with a wet/dry vacuum. I hope it works with upholstered furniture too. It's a good idea to have at least two so you have one brush for really messy things and one for fabrics like carpets and upholstery.
