These shoes are very eye-catching in the truest sense of the word. The outside is shiny and the wings are slightly sticking out. Also, the shoes glow. I had a hard time deciding on this review. I personally don't care because the light is either on or off. Nothing in between. I'm used to setting up sensors to turn on when someone leaves and turn off otherwise. These don't have it. I would say 3 stars but my daughter really likes them so I'm giving them 4. They fit well and the sole breathes well so doesn't sweat in it like other sneakers. I'm glad they came with quick release buckles. My 5 year old is still learning how to tie her shoelaces but she needs these for school. Wings with Velcro, detachable. If you leave them on I would suggest you lace your shoes through them as there are lace holes in both the shoes and the fenders. This way they won't be torn off or lost if they get stuck. The charging port is actually well hidden on the side of the shoe's upper so you don't really notice it and my daughter doesn't mess with it. Everyone. There is a simple button to turn the light on and off. She has no problem with that. I'm just waiting for a letter from her teacher that she's wearing shoes. They come with a dual charger, so all you have to do is plug the end into an outlet and then you can charge both shoes at the same time. I don't know how long they last, depends on usage. I try to make it a habit to plug them in weekly and hope they stay charged. Last note. They are very useful at fairs and in shops. The light is so bright that no matter which way you turn, you can't help but see your baby. Our local carnival opens after sundown, so I had no trouble keeping up with the crowd.
