This device simply draws power from the telephone line to illuminate bright LEDs. Like will flicker brightly with each ring. During the day I suggest directing the light towards the viewer(s). Reflection cannot overcome daylight/office lighting. At night it can be aimed at the ceiling to make the flash less harsh. I use it in a noisy room where I may not hear a phone call. In a quiet room, I mute the ringtone and let the flash signal the call. The device can be enhanced with a non-permanent mount (e.g. magnetic) and a "device output" connector on the same side as the input cable. It's even better to have a device input port with a short wire accessory.
