Let's get straight to the end

You are probably considering ordering this range for the same reason I am - to select the best blades for future orders. Perhaps I can save you some trouble by describing the good, the normal, and the ugly as I've seen them. Anyway, I'm not an expert. But I've been shaving for a while, and the scars on my face prove it. I switched from a disposable razor to a double-edged blade not because there's a better shave out there, but because the blades are cheap enough to replace. much more often. In two shaves with one blade, I can shave for about twenty-five dollars for a year. Try it with a Gillette Sensor 12 or something else. So for me a maximum of two to three shaves with one blade. Your mileage may vary - like I said, I'm no expert. Ugly at the beginning: Sharp, Shark and 7 AM were the worst. They all come in the same packaging and I'm guessing they're made by the same company. "Technical Cooperation from Switzerland" is written on all the labels, but on closer inspection it could mean that the owner called his cousin in Zurich and asked if he should buy a PC or Mac. A little research seemed to confirm this: If you go to Google Maps and look for their address in Switzerland in the street view, you will see an apartment building. Their other address is in Bangladesh, and despite that country's other strengths and weaknesses, its name isn't synonymous with <ahem> innovative cutlery. It's good. The clear winners were the Astra Platinum, the Voskhod and the Made in Israel car with <again, um> an advantage over the Astra Platinum. The second shave was just as good as the first, and the third is perfectly doable, although going from two razors to three would have saved me about $0.04 per shave (about $14 a year), so why bother make? Okay: The rest of the Blades fell somewhere in the middle - neither good nor bad. The bottom line for me is that these things are cheap enough that I want quality over any cost considerations. So I will order Astra Platinum and change the blades after the second shave. So my annual budget for razor blades is about 5 percent of my coffee budget, and getting a good shave first thing in the morning without having to reach for the styptic pen improves my quality of life just as much as the first cup of coffee.
