Disclaimer: I do NOT have sleeping problems or any medical conditions that require a weighted blanket. I'm a light sleeper and wanted to try something that would help me sleep more deeply. Also, I'm a 22 year old med student in case anyone is wondering if this blanket is for kids or seniors only. Obviously this is a weighted blanket so obviously it's going to be heavy but I've seen some reviews. that the blanket didn't have the weight that the company claimed. This blanket weighed 15 pounds as promised and has withstood up to two weeks of continuous use with very little leakage from a few balls. (That's why I have to give 4 stars and not 5) and it has helped me sleep MUCH better. I've always been a light sleeper and often toss and turn at night, which sometimes wakes me up and prevents me from going back to sleep. This comforter is heavy enough and snug enough to keep my feet flat on the bed. I'm not kidding, I've gone from tossing and turning all night to not moving an inch with this thing. I've seen people compare a weighted blanket to a lead vest from a dentist's office, and I have to say that's not entirely true. Weight vests are hard and don't fit your body (I have to wear one every day at the hospital where I work). Sleeping with this blanket is more accurately described as sleeping on the beach with the lower body buried in the sand. It's actually an $80 blanket with square pockets filled with sand, not cotton. it said. I would pay DOUBLE for the quality of sleep I get every night now (and I'm a total curmudgeon). Speaking of squares, don't let the term "diamond" fool you, this blanket doesn't have a diamond design lol, it's just little squares tilted 45 degrees to look like diamonds. I say that because the glass beads inside, the size of grains of sand, hang sideways when you sleep, BUT that's not necessarily a bad thing; He fixes the ceiling. The only negative I have to say is that a small amount of pearls seeps onto my bed each night. I don't blame the manufacturer, these beads are insanely small and slowly seep through almost every stitch. To give you an idea, if we imagine there are 1 million glass beads in a duvet, then about 20 of them seep into my mattress every night, which are easily removed in the morning with a quick brush. If you're hesitant to buy that outrageously expensive duvet, buy it, try it for a week, then return it for free! It's worth a try, trust me.
