Helpful Tips for Beginners

*Please Read!* I am new to nail art and I love this kit! Due to the easy handling, it is well suited for beginners. I also liked the packaging. I bought a cheaper practice set first in case I messed up (I messed up a lot in one day, that's totally fine!). The plastic double shapes were too wide at the cuticle so I filed them down a bit. This kit does not come with a lamp or slick, for slick you should not use more than 70% alcohol for wiping. I was at 90% and had to find the perfect ratio of medicinal alcohol to water once I found the perfect solution in an empty lube solution bottle! If you have consistently thick nails, an electric file will help thin the edges of your nails and around the cuticles to make them look more natural, but before filing you must rub your nails first 👏🏼 or they will get sticky. Rest on the file you use. I prefer double forms (plastic) because you get a more even top on all nails, it will take me some time to get used to the nail forms (stickers). The advice for these is to take the sticker you will need to punch out and apply it to the spot where you are going to build the nail so you have more support! To remove this polygel, you can soak your nails in acetone for about 10-15 minutes and then scrape them off, or if you're impatient like me you can sometimes file them, but be careful not to file the base coat if you use an electric file because it can damage the nail bed! If your nails don't last that long you should prep your nails by buffing your natural nail bed and using a dehydrator or rubbing alcohol maybe even acetone and letting it dry before applying primer and/or base coat, I personally don't. t I don't have a primer, but I just need a base coat. Another rhinestone tip I've found is to use a toothpick and dip it into the top layer and then place it on the nail where you are going to place the rhinestone and then cure it for 30 seconds. Sometimes I press on the rhinestone with a wax pencil to make sure it will hold. Of course you want to add the rhinestones after you've already applied the top coat and already cured, and then do the trick I just talked about. You should not apply a top coat to the rhinestones as it will be difficult to remove and will likely look weird or washed out. To remove the rhinestones, you can use an old cuticle nippers and keep them. If your nails don't have a strong shine after applying the top coat, you may have applied too much top coat and don't need many coats as it can dull the shine. Effects I learned this the hard way. Finally, apply a top coat to the nail edges and under the nail to make the polygel color last longer! If you paint your nails, do it after applying the top coat. If you screwed up the color or don't like the color, you can use REGULAR nail polish remover as it won't hurt your hard work (acetone can ruin some polygels). and I've found that to be the case with this set) I like to do this when I'm not using rhinestones so I can switch up some colors whenever I like. If you got this far I hope this helps a lot 💖
