I have had this mirror from the same company for years and have had no problems with it but now have the quality has dropped significantly. I just got a new one and it's so cheaply made that cleaning it with branded glass cleaner and paper towel completely scratched the surface of the mirror. It's useless. This is the second I will be returning. I originally repurchased an 8" diameter mirror only to find out that it is actually only 6" in the actual mirror. (The exact same mirror I had before was a real 8" mirror as described.) I sent it back and bought a 10" mirror (the real mirror is only 8" in diameter) but now it is huge and deep. Holes in it from cleaning, like I clean every mirror and sheet of glass I have. It's garbage. Such a shame. So this company is making mirrors cheaper and smaller (and lying about the size) to save pennies? - only to end up losing many, many dollars and eventually go out of business? Greed doesn't work, you know.
