Keep this important aspect in mind when choosing the right model

I would like to clarify that there are two different models to choose from and a battery powered model was sent to me for review. My dissatisfaction with this aspect of the product (which is mentioned in the video review) can easily be remedied by going for the more expensive USB powered option. This white noise generator from Beurer is praised for being very light and handy. It's the perfect little sound machine to slip in your suitcase to take with you on a trip, or just to move from one room to another without unplugging. However, I would never choose a model that only runs on batteries. You can easily burn out the batteries on a device that plays continuously for hours or night after night (starter pack of batteries included). However, if you're entertaining one child in one room at a time, I can see how easily you can carry this device without messing with the cord. However, the pure battery aspect does not seem optimal to me. Other than that, it's a decent sound machine, but it falls into the realm of just "reasonable". I'm a big fan of sound machines. I can't sleep without soothing sounds playing in my room. However, this device seems to be more child-friendly due to the limited sound selection and the inclusion of a "lullaby". Not even the sound of rain, which is what I think draws most people into buying these machines. Because the device has a very basic small speaker, the sounds have limited fidelity. get very loud. It's definitely intended for bedside use only, as it certainly doesn't fill the space. My final conclusion is that this is a very capable sound machine for its portability and for a use that may be better suited to children. I personally would spend $5 more for a USB version with more sounds and plug-ins. But even at this level, it feels more like an entry-level sound machine than the more sophisticated room-filling units I've used (which are typically more expensive).
