Small set for basic beard care. My beard tends to get dry and rough, especially after shampooing. The oil softens my beard well and keeps it moisturized. My beard is also in an "intermediate phase" where it is quite patchy in some places, but also unruly and wiry in others. The beard balm "suggested" perfectly how the hair should lie. It's not crunchy or rough but has some grip. It has made my beard much cleaner and thicker to the point of otherwise growing back. The brushes are good too. I've never used a boar brush before, but it really is a game changer. Helps hair to style properly. I also appreciated the wooden comb. None of the brushes/combs irritated or unduly scraped my skin. Scissors are great for cleaning up the mustache area and stray hairs. My only complaint is the smell. I bought sandalwood. Neither the oil nor the balm smell strong (which I liked), but the aroma is there. And while the smell isn't strong, it lingers for a while. It doesn't smell bad, but it's not very pleasant either. Not the best sandalwood scent in my opinion. When it comes time to buy more oil or balm, I'll probably be odor free. If I were to buy this kit again I would probably try the gray kit. The set contains the same items, but the oil is odorless and the balm has a citrus scent. All in all a good set. It definitely made my beard look and feel better.
