I wouldn't recommend it for a trip to the airport. I have traveled from Newark to Atlanta and back on Delta flights and carried my 20lb 7 month old Jack Russell puppy (I had the larger version of the carrier) in this carrier. After the first leg of the journey, the carrier practically collapsed. There are some white things coming on it to keep it stable but they made holes in the holder and got out of place. I had to return them en route from Atlanta airport. When we returned to Newark the holes were even bigger from use (this is only the second time I've used it) and it has mostly not been fixed. <15lb dog.
