I bought these to prepare for an ankle surgery that put me in a cast for several weeks. The wide leg opening and elastic waistband were the big draw. First, I wouldn't call these sweatpants because the material has the thickness of a t-shirt. This makes them nice for warm weather but not a cold day in winter. The elastic waistband is firm and frankly a little too firm. I didn't find that they shrunk in the dryer which is a plus. The pockets are nice but the pants are boxy. Basically these aren't going to win any fashion contests. I feel a bit like I'm in pj bottoms. They are great for kicking around at home but I don't foresee myself wearing them outside beyond the mailbox. But they were perfect for getting over my cast.
