Review on FiiO FH3 Triple Drive HiFi Earphones: High Resolution, Bass Sound, High Fidelity for Smartphones/PC/Tablet by Bryan Murphy

Come for the bass, stay for the mids

People buy this IEM for bass. And it definitely is, although not overwhelmingly so. It's so fast, so deep and so pure that it doesn't show up when it's not needed, but it hits so hard when it needs to. I really understand why people call it an addiction. It adds real depth, richness and authority to the bass without coloring the lower mids, which I found to be problematic with models like the BLON BL-03 and iBasso IT00. The Tin T2+ is also warmer in comparison, albeit less authoritatively (sometimes even a bit slack in comparison). I would characterize this as the biggest benefit the FH3 offers for the extra money over what I consider to be the king of value in the T2+, followed by its improved separation. The best way to describe the FH3 is in its most natural "fun" setting. conceivable. It's definitely an L shape, but it handles it with a grace that defies the price. Both male and female vocals are full without additional warmth and are in no way drowned out despite the powerful sub-bass. In fact, despite the setting, I would say that the mids are really the star of the show here, with the lows providing the foundation and the highs the accents. The tops themselves are smooth yet detailed, perhaps slightly recessed, but still offer a beautiful and soothing shimmer and shine. Part of the reason the package works so well is that the separation is so excellent, allowing each instrument and voice to play their part without disturbing the others. The scene is good, if not extensive, and the graphics are excellent overall, but don't draw the attention of more analytical presentations. The tone is excellent, especially for a hybrid. Build quality is very solid, as is comfort and noise isolation (although vented). Luckily, I experienced little to no rider agility. As mentioned, Fiio is very generous with accessories, including two pouches and four sets of attachments, as well as a quality SE cable. This is a great all rounder.
