We bought two packs for one bath for maximum coverage so our dogs wouldn't slip in the gaps between the strips. It was a good idea for us. I have never felt so safe in a bath/shower. We laid them out with a long axis parallel to the long axis of the tub and added four columns of six stripes (rows) each starting at the back of the tub. They are one inch apart, and each column is about an inch from the start of the next column. This way your foot always touches at least two strips. Even dogs would always be in at least one lane. They have been in use for about two months and are still working great. Aesthetically, they are almost invisible in the bathroom. I had to shine a bright flashlight on the surface of the tub as my wife put it down so we could see it well enough to align. If I didn't know we put them in, I wouldn't know they were there without stepping on them! I highly recommend them, but use two packs per bath so your foot is always on one of them. Be sure to clean the tub surface well and use some alcohol to remove residue.
