I'm a stubborn person and I like my belts. I want to be able to grab the TOP strap and pull to tighten the strap. Not so with these. To tighten the strap, you must route the webbing so that the bottom strap has traction. Usually you give yourself about 6 more inches to pull something up. I would recommend an extra foot. That way the first 4 or 5 inches stay straight with the buckle and then the extra length is used for tensioning. They work well just not what I'm used to. Instead of being up, it should be down. I ordered trigliders just in case. These are very good buckles. The more you use them, the better the job. I have these buckles because you can tighten a round object (sleeping bag) and it won't come loose. When cornering, the straight lines loosen up.
