I got this with my BenQ w1070. This is my first projector and my first experience of mounting a projector on the ceiling. The product looks like in the picture. The installation took just under an hour with the help of a friend. Much of this time was spent checking dimensions and assembling the mounting plate and arms. The instructions are not very clear or detailed as to which bolts, screws etc to go where and the illustrations are hard to see. The instruction text is insanely small, making it difficult to read. It comes with screws for mounting and ceiling mounting. The mount comes with a telescopic extension that can be used. Or you can simply attach the projector directly to the mounting plate. Without the extension, I was about 4-5 inches clear of the ceiling, which was great for my purposes. I have ceilings just under 8 feet in the man cave. Using an extension cord will cause the projector to hang too low from the ceiling and people may hit their heads. Other reviewers have complained that the w1070 only has 3 mounting points while this mount has 4 levers. Not sure if I have a newer remanufactured model, but I fixed it by using only the brackets when assembling the bracket and leaving the unused one in the box. I had to arrange the brackets in a triangle to attach it to the projector and it seems to work. The mount features a ball joint that allows for a great deal of adjustment. There is a locking mechanism that keeps the position in place. However, the joint moves very easily when unlocked, making fine adjustment difficult. I've found that partially engaging the lock minimizes play in the hinge and allows me to make finer adjustments. It would be nice to be able to adjust pitch, roll and yaw of the mount individually, but this mount doesn't have that option. If you correct one, you can invariably affect the other. Therefore, fine-tuning the position may take some time.
