My mother-in-law received this foot massager as a gift, which I was delighted to receive. She likes it a lot so those are points for me. She was surprised by his power. She said she likes a light massage so now she sets the minimum setting for herself. You can get really good compression at stronger settings, which is probably better for me but apparently not for her. The instructions were simple enough and in a minute she was able to get everything set up and up and running. It's not difficult after the first time, it just takes a little getting used to the first time. Can't comment on durability, but so far it's been a great little gift!
