Review on Casio G-Shock Mudman Multiband6 Japanese Model [GW-9300-1JF]: The Ultimate Rugged Timepiece by Ada Borkowska ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Everything is fine, there are only minor drawbacks.

Since all ji-shocks are approximately the same in terms of accuracy, functions and properties, I chose according to the sensations on my hand and appearance. Despite the flashy brutality of the image, there is enough grace in the design. This can be seen by those who find the exterior of the IS-3 tank elegant. At first I definitely went to the Casio GX-56-1A, but I saw these and could not refrain from buying. The asymmetric design does not irritate me personally, the excessive thickness does not particularly burden me for utilitarian use.

Pros
  • Accuracy, masculine design, light weight, solar battery, build quality additional "toy" features, such as a compass and a thermometer with moon phases. The plastic from which everything is made is pleasant to the touch and velvety to the touch. Information from the positive display is read easily and naturally.
Cons
  • The first and very significant - the glass is sweating from the inside. No, according to the laws of physics, this does not seem to be unusual, but the watch sweats in the summer, on a not very hot day, after being used while riding a bicycle. You see, the glass is cooled so much by the oncoming air flow that dew falls out. It can sweat so much that nothing is visible on the display. As written in the instructions, it can sweat, and if the fogging disappears soon, then this is normal. Lost, I agree! But before that, it spoils life a lot. Second. A white, powdery substance falls out in the hollows of the body. Washes off with a brush, but soon falls out again. From this, the case and bracelet do not look neat. We see the chemical property of the polymer used. Although the model belongs to the Mudman group, it is not entirely clear how it is going to resist this very mud with such an abundance of cracks and nooks and crannies on the body that are hard to reach for cleaning. Around the back cover, the designers conceived a wide bezel made of a rather soft material, like rubber or plastic. The task of the bezel is to force the consumer to once again make sure that the watch is waterproof and indestructible. So, this bezel does not fit snugly against the back cover, forming a very little slit. You are taken aback when you think how much over time a mixture of sweat, dust, natural remnants of human skin will accumulate under this rim. And it will be extremely problematic to remove all this - a toothpick will not fit, and the toothbrush pile will not reach to the full depth. The same story with the gaps between the visors covering the buttons and the buttons themselves. Yes, and the thickness of the case could be made smaller, otherwise even the famous Casio GX-56-1A model, famous for its gigantic dimensions, was outdone in thickness. The disadvantages could be attributed to the excessive rigidity of the buttons, but this is not for everyone .
