I have two of these. One of them has very poor microphone sensitivity, making it practically useless to activate during music, which means it's not very useful to me. The other works fine for this, but I think it would be better if it responded to bass rather than treble. In other words, the light is usually activated when the vocals start or another higher frequency beat is played. Another big issue I had is that if there is a power outage, the light will turn on automatically when the power is turned back on. . I really don't want these things to turn on just because the power is flashing. By default it should be disabled when you turn it on, or at least have an option. That means I can't even leave them plugged in when not in use. I discovered this today when the power went out for two hours. When it turned back on, everything was in full swing, backlit and engine running. I like the audio response mode with and without the motor, but unfortunately there is no way to switch between them at regular intervals. The same behavior keeps getting boring. Switching the engine on and off would at least add some variety. On the other hand, I don't know what I expected for $10 other than both devices working correctly.
