My wife had a stroke a few years ago. We have 2 houses, one in the city and the other on the coast. We have a city hospital bed and I was looking for something to raise it, like a coastal hospital bed. the hospital bed will rust. I saw it and thought it was perfect. It works fine but all product photos show 2 people in bed. There's a reason for that. What they don't tell you is that if you have a person in the bed and that person isn't in the middle of the bed, the lighter side of the bed will be lifted a lot more than the side with the person. I didn't think about it until I installed it under the mattress and inflated it. My wife was initially at an awkward angle and the lighter side of the bed was much higher. So if she is alone in bed I have to put her in the middle of the bed. Thus, both sides lift equally, albeit more than the center where their weight is. Plus, it was easy to install and does what it says on the tin, which is to allow one person to control the height with the remote.
