I thought my Cat6 was good enough for a 500 Gbps connection. When I asked my cable company why I was getting less than half of that, the rep suggested they switch to Cat8 at least for communication between the modem and router. I giggled, thinking it wouldn't do any good since Cat6 is rated for up to 1Gbps, but he assured me he'd done it at home and seen a definite improvement. Decided it was worth a try. I bought a $4 6 inch Cat8 to go from a modem to a router. My connection increased by 20% from 230 Mbps to 280 Mbps. Well I'll be damned! Then I moved from the router to the PC and increased the speed from 280 to 350 Mbit/s. Very happy with this purchase. The cable appears to be very strong but straightens up easily with no waves. They also provided a set of 10 cord hooks to nail it to the skin which is nice. Two thumbs up!
