Received my mattress topper today and was pleased to find it doesn't smell bad as many waterproof items come out of the box. Seems to be of good quality and assembly - I tried tearing the cover at one of the seams and couldn't tear it. The pockets are deep enough to easily fit my mattress and a 2 inch foam mattress topper. The elastic around the edges ensures a snug fit - see the photo I've attached to see how well it goes with the bed. After putting the cover on the mattress, I poured water on it to see if it would absorb. It got a little soaked on the surface of the terry cloth, but the water didn't seep out to the other side. My foam topper was completely dry. When I tested it. I like that this cover is machine washable and dryable. The manufacturer recommends washing it every three months and claims it will last over 200 washes. If true, I look forward to continuing to use it 50 years later I was offered a sample of this product in exchange for an honest review. At this point I am very happy with the product and will post updates if this changes. We are all in this online store together, so I believe in honesty in my reviews. Hope my review helps you.
