Despite the madness that HP's standard monitor stand is, this product works very well. It took a few seconds to secure the monitor to the existing mounting tab, and despite some reviews stating it was loose, mine was solid (it also snapped into place). There's a piece of tape in the box to attach it to the mount so it stays in place when you need it, but I didn't have that. I could literally hold the monitor by the VESA plate and shake it and nothing would fall off, although HP's standard design put all the weight on that little plastic tab, so I wouldn't be too happy with how I'd be handling it by hand. In normal use I don't see how this will not hold up the monitor. This adapter costs $5 more than the others, but I'd say it's worth the extra money. The included screws and washers work great, although I had to use three washers on the bottom two (100mm) screw holes as the screws are otherwise long enough to hit the back of the monitor case. I wish the adapter was a bit longer to center the platen on the back of the monitor, but that's not a problem unless you want to do portrait rotations where moving it backwards would cause the monitor not to open centered on the stand.
