Review on C2D JOY Fabric Compatible QuickFit Outdoor Recreation for Accessories by David Bowens

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Very comfortable, mostly secure

I have compared three similar watch straps - a standard Garmin Enduro nylon strap, an Abanen Velcro strap which you can find here at Revain and this is a C2D JOY Ultra Fit . The Garmin band feels like a quality band. Maybe it's a bit thinner than the other two. Putting the strap on is a little awkward as you have to close the velcro on both sides. Velcro itself is good but I think it could be better. They have two color options, black or gray, and it costs $50. The Abanen feels good, maybe not as good as the Garmin, but to me it feels solid. The way this attaches to the watch is different than a Garmin or C2D strap. The velcro straps are on opposite ends of the strap so one side zips into the watch strap and this part is fairly firm. So to put on or take off the strap, simply undo the other side. This one-way adjustment works easier and I think is generally more secure than the two sides on the outside of the tape that can be undone. In size 26 mm you have one color option - black. The price is $15 which is reasonable. After all, this is the C2D group. The two things that they really nailed here are firstly that you have two different sizes to choose from and secondly that you have multiple color options. The choice of size is excellent, the ends of the Garmin strap meet at an unfavorable point for my size. The smaller version fits perfectly here. The strap feels a bit softer than the Abanen and the quality seems good. The grey-yellow color is great. Where I rattle the C2D a bit is with velcro. The velcro pieces are a bit small and I was initially concerned that the strap might not be secure. I've been wearing it for a few days now, everything is fine. To mount the strap I had to remove the spring bars on the C2D (but not the other two straps) as the Velcro is thicker and cannot go through with the spring bars mounted. This has the advantage that the bracelet cannot accidentally detach from the watch. Compared to Garmin where I sometimes pulled the whole strap off when putting the watch down. I'm not sure I trust any of these three straps for open water swimming, but they all work for running. If C2D releases new colors I will buy these again. The price is $23 and I think it's worth it for the choice of size and unique color.
