Ordered this for my 6 year old as "winter" play shoes. He generally wears slip on canvas sneakers and hiking sandals in the summer. I was looking for a close toed, durable sneaker for outdoor play. These did not fit the bill. They are very thin and light (not necessarily a bad thing, but not good for hard outdoor play in cool weather), definitely not remotely waterproof.like, don't wear them two days after it's rained. Worst of all, the bottoms were squishable under the force of a fingernail. I wouldn't use these shoes outdoors at all as it seemed a rock or stick would poke right through. We, in a way, lucked out that these were also too small and had to be returned. I don't think they run exceptionally small.he was in a 13 all summer and I ordered a 1. He could barely get his foot inside the shoe which does run very narrow. The narrowness was definitely an issue, but he measured closer to a 2 at a brick and mortar store.
