Staggered holes

I have built many prefab cabinets etc. This was difficult as the mounting holes on the side rails, shelves and back panels were offset. Directions were minimal (drawings). I had to take apart what I had designed and reverse the order of operations to get a positive result: screw in the rails first, then try to align the shelf between the rails to attach it to the back wall. This was tricky and required some maneuvering as you have to look into the holes in the back panel to try and find the matching holes in the edge of the shelf while carefully maneuvering the shelf. Due to the offset, you only see about a third of the shelf hole and have to tilt the screw accordingly. Once I figured that out, things went pretty smoothly, although the edges of the rails aren't flush with the edges of the back panel. However, it is assembled and looks as expected. Find it too expensive at over 49€. $35 is more like that. But for storage in the bathroom it is enough.

Pros
  • Side support rail holds taller items securely
Cons
  • old
