I originally bought this for dogs and they respond well to it. They bark too much and we couldn't fix it. Now we yell "no" and signal the device and they stop immediately. After the first day, by yelling "no" and pointing at the device, you can get the gist without even pressing a button. The big surprise is that our cats react the same way. We have three five month old kittens who can get a bit cheeky. You HATE this thing. Now, when we yell "no" across the room, they stop scratching, clawing, crawling, or whatever else they're doing wrong and immediately stop and stare at us. .Who knows how many pieces of furniture this little device will save us in the years to come with cats that really obey! I'm thankful it works as advertised on dogs with the huge bonus that it works even better on cats.
